Whether it’s a new album, beauty product launch, or their newest blockbuster, celebrities aren’t shy about using social media as a tool to get more out of it.
But what can we in fact learn from how popular personalities post and interact online, so you or your brand can achieve that level of stardom? media update Taylor Goodman takes a look.
Stop fangirling, the class is in session:
Lesson 1: Show your personality
Most people tend to follow celebrities on social media because they are curious about their lives. I’m sure you’ve found yourself wondering what celebrities do in their day-to-day lives.
One famous face who is the king of letting his personality shine through on social media is Gordon Ramsey. The celebrity chef imbues all of his social media posts, whether on TikTok, Instagram or Twitter, with his unique humor.

Remember that people follow your brand because they care about it and want to stay informed about its latest happenings. This means doing everything possible to post regularly and make sure your unique voice shines through.
Lesson 2: Interact with your followers
Back to online celebrity appeal in fact is: social media humanizes those numbers that would otherwise be unattainable. These digital platforms bridge the gap between celebrities and the common person, which means users have the opportunity to interact with their favorite stars.
Taylor Swift is always reaching out to her fans and engaging with them in social spaces.
Swift goes beyond her “Swifties” and regularly responds to fans online. Recently, indeed, she noticed that her song wildest dreams was trending on TikTok. Taylor then released his re-recorded version of the song earlier (Taylor’s version… If you know, you know) just for his fans.
It’s one of many examples that prove just how great Swift and her team are. insightful and constantly staying up to date with what his fans are talking about or what is going on among them.

Additionally, Taylor is active on most social media platforms and she makes the effort to engage with her fans whenever she can.
So what can brands learn from Taylor Swift? For engage with your followers, of cours! If Swift can make the effort with her 90.2 million followers on Twitter, you can too.
People like to be recognized, especially those who make the effort to reach your brand online. Talk to your followers, answer their questions, and involve them in your work.
Lesson 3: Don’t let your emotions get the better of you
Celebrity apologies and social media go hand in hand, especially with the rise of ‘cancel culture‘ user mentality. Nowadays, under the magnifying glass that is the Internet, notorious personalities issuing apology statements have become a kind of art.
It seems like every day someone new gets called out for saying or doing something problematic. So how can we your brand avoid the wrath of internet trolls, you ask?
Well, you could take a page from Chrissy Teegan’s book. In 2021, the model faced major backlash online for tweets that resurfaced from 2011 from her “trolling” TV personality Courtney Stoden. This is where the lesson really begins: avoid situations or say things that could land you in hot water. Being preventative is a lifesaver!
If you can’t avoid it; However, here’s something Chrissy did that your brand can do too!
Chrissy then issued an apology, stating, “There’s just no excuse for my past horrible tweets; I was a troll, period. And I’m so sorry.” What she did here is a prime example of a celebrity admitting to losing her cool on social media and then dealing with the repercussions.
And I’m so sorry for letting you down. I will always work to be better than 10 years, 1 year, 6 months ago.

As a brand, it’s crucial that you stay cool under pressure and post thoughtfully. Yes, you may have haters trying to bring you down online from time to time, but that’s life on social media. Remember to lift yourself up and not let your emotions get the better of you.
